Just ran into two containers inside an asteroid but they never showed up.

Did you use a scanning probe? They'll show up if you do. If you don't use one they won't, not even if you're right next to them. At least that's been my experience so far.

Well I mean PERIOD, I'm staring at i think like 4/5 containers ONSCREEN but they don't say 'CONTAINER' over them AT ALL.

    Case in point, literally. :p

Containers ONSCREEN but no "Container" labeling them, they are unopened/

Yeah I think once you visually see an item it should be identified and marked. Scanner is meant to be long range, but here should be a passive scanner that scans around you so when you fly close to something (even if you're not looking at it) it should still pick it up

Hi, this was our intention. We had quite a few discussions about to show containers in the HUD and decided to don't do it to give the scanning probes more meaning. But we will revise this and maybe change it in the future, so thanks for mentioning this!

With the last patch containers can now be seen on the radar, but only if you are very close.
