Crashed just before jumping

I was getting killed close to a Jump Gate. So, idecided to try to escape trhough it. But, I got killed at about 60/70% Jump chrging sequence. Strangely, when my ship exploded I got the jump animation. (Thought I was saved) Nah, the game crashed ;-)
