Coop / Multiplayer

I know, this has been asked in another thread, but stayed unanswered. I wish there would be a two-player coop / multiplayer like in Isaac or Neon Chrome, where two pilots fly their own ship from sector to sector and share their collected credits/ressources.

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere but I can't find any info on Multiplayer??
Will it have it?
If so, any chance of a bit of detail? will it be a single universe, or will it be like freelancer?....Or something else?
Ta!

What would you want to see in that multiplayer? Some examples:
Arena (2v2, 3v3, 5v5, etc)
large scale wars (Battlegrounds)
Clan wars
Capital ship protection
This list goes on..
I start this thread purely for the conversation, and if the devs aren't already considering PVP options, or ideas, that this list or discussion will give them some good ideas.
I apologize that this is my first post. and if its a duplicate of another one I didn't see. I'm really excited to see this game take off and see where it goes.
Unless i was commanding the fleet chasing you, and could pilot drones to 1 vs 1 a bit. While not flying i could maneuver blockades, choke points, or collect resources left behind by the player to strengthen my fleet.
Or escort co-op missions, something like that. Same kind of rules. But this really only fits the LAN aspect, which doesn't make it a bad thing, just wouldn't really want to do this with people i don't know - I can see lots of rage in this situation.
THAT BEING SAID, there could be some unique ways other players could interact with one another.
Depending on how the content is generated, it could be possible to make some of the allies or enemies in the game loadouts of another's game data. So, if I'm flying around as Giraffasaur with a super custom Cloaking Missile loadout, you could come across a pirate called Giraffasaur with a custom Cloaking Missile loadout on their ship.
It would be like Spore generating data from other people's content in everyone's personal game.
If you have friends online through Steam, it's more likely you'll encounter their game data than just random Joe Smith. So there could be some "data sharing" between friends. "Oh man, you totally just blew me out of the sky!" "Oh yeah? Well you just helped me save a trade convoy from extinction! What the heck type of weapons are you using, anyway?"
Other than that, multiplayer areas and challenges sound more like they'd take away from the roguelike experience, which is the core of the game itself.
I really like all games that proposes the main campaign in coop like Divinity Original Sin, Baldur's Gate, Saints Row, Doom (1 and 2), Unreal (1) and so on. Unfortunately, there are less and less similar games and most of coop games are MMORPG but they don't provide the same fun
So I was wondering, do the devs have any plans on implementing a co-op mode. I see a lot of possibilities with something like this.
Star Citizen removed drop-in coop play of their campaign entirely and has stated it will NOT come back!
DU, ED, NMS have no such modes.
Everspace could easily dominate a simple 2 vs AI multiplayer. It would be really fun! Many of us have talked about it since Alpha!
I believe your team could do it! Have the host machine spawn everything & update the client upon reaching the system. It would take awhile in Unreal Engine 4 SDK to flag things "Replicate to Network", but it wouldn't take a long time to do!
UE4 has steam support for matching players.
After the game comes out. PLEASE let your talented team look at just a basic 2 person match!!!!!!!!!
Love you! Thanks for the support!!!
@Goloith would love it too!
That's just an opinion, multiplayer could also be implemented in a more complex (masbe the teased hardcore mode) game mode, wher multiple players would need to manage a ship, with perhaps steerable turrets, a complex hacking and drone controll, and so on (you get the point).
Greetings,
Rattiputz
Randomly send Interceptors
Random Loot
Random critical state
This concept is not guaranteed, though.
what do you thinks ?
After these goals have been reached, new opportunities can be explored to add to the game. If successful enough, Everspace could have some really nice DLC in it's future.
Thx,
Michael
